Introduced by Rep. John C. Bear (R) on July 2, 2009, to create a one-time incentive program for new and existing homes and qualified renovations. The bill would spend $100 million to provide a $10,000 rebate to purchasers of new homes, $5,000 for qualified renovations projects and $2,500 toward the purchase of a previously owned home. The eligility period would be from July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2011.

This is a terrible idea and it will fail just like the nationla stimulus if passed. Giving out tax credits will just make homes and home renovations more expensive. Besides most people who buy a new house or remodel will do it with or without a tax credit.
