Introduced by Rep. Gary Haluska (D) on February 2, 2009, to require the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to redesign the Pennsylvania flag to include, among other things, the addition of the word "Pennsylvania".

The flag already looks like 38 other state flags you couldnt pick out of a crowd. Why not make it distinctive like New Mexico or Alaska? Adding words to a flag is a HUGE design blunder (see nava.org). This just shows how much legislators really know. Put the design out to school groups. Offer a prize for the wining design. Children will design better flags than adults most any day of the week
