Introduced by Sen. Shirley M. Kitchen (D) on January 20, 2009, to require leased, non-owner occupied dwelling units without a sprinkler system to be equipped with a portable fire extinguisher at the expense of the seller, transferor, or landlord as approrpriate to comply with the legislation. The legislation establishes penalties for non-compliance.
