True Direct Democracy, Let all registered voters, vote on every issue via the internet.

If our framers were setting up their new government today, I believe this is the way in which they would do it. Our framers couldn’t do this because of logistics, however technology has now made it possible for we the people to be in control of our country. With this one fundamental change we could reinstate all of the values and core beliefs that our founders intended. Unfortunately we would still need our Senators and Congressman and woman, however, their power would be greatly reduced and most, if not all power would be placed back in the hands of the people. The role of the Senate and Congress would be to introduce legislation and work out the details only and not to decide which bills and ideas become law. All bills, including everything from budget matters and bailouts to border and war issue etc, would have to be posted in their final form with a restriction on length, (to avoid those 1100 page earmark filled emergency bills) on the internet for a certain length of time so as to give all voters time to read the bill they are going to vote on. Then every voter could submit their yea, nay or undecided votes along with any notes they may wish to attach.

All government positions should be voted in, not appointed. Treasury Secretary, Secretary of State, etc.

By allowing voters to do this via the internet it would effectively eliminate or drastically reduce corruption by taking away the buying of votes and the appointment of position based on campaign donations. This Plan would work not only for federal government but also state and local governments.

Voters would have to use a valid ID. Or login such as voter registration number to help alleviate fraud. We would need to install terminals in places such as Post Offices and link them to the vote site for registered voters that don’t have computers or access to the internet. This would be a very minimal cost compared to some of the earmarks we have been seeing lately.

I’m sure that I haven’t addressed everything here but with the help and input of all the WE THE PEOPLE, people in this great land, I’m certain it can and will help save our country.

Please give this idea serious and deep thought and I believe you will agree that it alone would fix the majority of our problems. Another bonus of this plan would be the possibility of minimizing the usefulness and power of special interest groups like Acorn, and limit the power of Lobbyists‘. this alone would save the taxpayers countless amounts of revenue. Please help us with this proposal by e-mailing to everyone you can think of. I am also going to print hard copies of this and pass them out at upcoming tea parties and events around my area. Plus call and e-mail every talk show and radio program possible.

Thank you for your support and GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY!

 Thank You: Phil Clemens

First, if $1 billion in savings is to be realized, then that money should be given back to those paying monthly premiums.

Second, it's not up to any compnay to provide $650 million to expand health care to anybody.

Third, if this company can overcharge its costomers by $1 billion, then it sounds to me that there is ample opportunity for competition.

Fourth, when insurance companies are allowed to sell their products across state lines, then we will have true competition -- and lower prices.
