This would create an online database of state spending.  A previous version was endorsed last session by the National Taxpayer's Union and other organizations - the Sunshine Review page has more.

In a related bill, Pennsylvania House Rep. introduced Bill No. 1460, also known as PennWatch. This is an that would help establishing a searchable database that would detail information regarding taxpayer investments. In effect, this bill will allow ordinary citizens to become government watchdogs, and see for themselves where their money is being spent.

    Abhilashsamuel,

How did you access the details of the bill? I would like to be able to read different bills in that format, but cannot find a way.

I feel like the government creates their websites in such a way that it's nearly impossible to navigate.
I hope that this bill passes in the House, and that Gov. Rendel signs it.
I hope that the Treasurer does not create an impossible-to-navigate website, but conforms to the spirit of this law: giving the people more information.
